Mis orígenes

Hi!

My name is Ericka Ghersi and I am from Lima, Peru. However, I lived in different parts of Peru due to my father's job. I stayed for a while in Arequipa, in Trujillo, and mainly in Piura (Talara, Paita y Colan), all of them beautiful beaches located up to the north of Lima. Now, you may wonder how I ended up in The States, well, I still ask to myself the same question so here I am enjoying the Floridian weather, and this new technological way of teaching Spanish.

My teaching philosophy has changed since I discovered how to work with the computer in class. SInce then, I download music, short-videos, and pictures to use in class. What I try to do in class is to let them now how many ways are of learning Spanish, so they discover new webpages in Spanish, I teach how to use translators so my students are not afraid of getting into a Spanish webpage and then translate what they do not understand. It's fun, you should try it!

This class is going to help me in several ways because I will be aware how to work more efectively with my students, how careful I need to be with the information I give them and the way I create it to them. All this new tools Dr. Lord is teaching us will be useful soon, so I am just very glad of being here.
